Additional Information

Starting from March 2025, Max is a postdoctoral researcher in the IRDS working in collaboration with the Science in external page Diplomacy lab (SiDLab) at the University of Geneva. He is studying the evolution of norms related to gender-based violence in resolutions adopted by the United Nations General Assembly and the United Nations Security Council, employing data science techniques for an improved quantitative understanding of trends in gender-based violence related discourse over time.

Max obtained his PhD from the D-MATL at ETH Zürich studying out-of-equilbrium responsive materials (active matter). He developed agent-based models to simulate the dynamics of these complex systems and applied machine learning techniques to characterise and analyse their behavior. By joining the IRDS, he hopes to combine his research with his own interests in political activism.
